The Walking Dead Fan Club

I know nothing about the comics, only the little I've read about the basic story. I would love to be spoiled about the story as I doubt I'll ever get to read the comics. I'm super excited about the show though! Soooo spoil away Basic story, character plots, how the zombie thing started, anything!

Hey and welcome to the boards!

Umm ok Il go over a few of the main characters in the book.Anybody else wanna add anything or help be my guest as there is alot to cover!

Main characters I would say are Rick first and foremost,Lori,Carl Andrea,Glen,Michonne and Dale for most of the book.There are other characters who become "main" later on but also die etc but these pop up later.

Quick and very brief summary:Rick gets shot when aprehending an escaped convict with his partner Shane,wakes up in hospital 2 months later and finds world has gone dead.Searches for wife and son,on the way meets a father and son (Morgan and Duanne),leaves them to go to Atlanta where he believes his family went (people were told to go to the major citys for protection).

When he gets there,he and the horse he is riding get swarmed by zombies (the city was overrun) and the horse gets ripped apart.Rick is rescued by Glen who takes Rick to his camp on the outskirts of the city where his Lor,Carl and Shane along with a  host of other survivors are staying.

Melly you really should read the comic. The first trade is only $9.95 and the rest are about $15. YOu will enjoy it much more then us just telling you about it. It really is he best zombie story ever.

lol you guys are awesome ^_^ Perhaps I will look into the synopsis things.

ahh the thing is, while I was a huge fan of Prison Break...I'm just as squeamish as Sarah is *lol* when she was going on about having nightmares because of the show, I was nodding and grinning 'cause I knew that was my future hahaha

alright I did it *sigh* I ordered the first three 'books' from my local bookstore...they were $19 each and I already had a gift card for my birthday. These better be pretty damn good *lol*

In all honesty, this is the least graphic (violence wise) comic book I've ever read.  Just know the stories get very dark later on, so beware.  I feel I should alert you that if you have any issues with violence to children or can't read or watch stories about rape then you might want to tread lightly.  The Govener storyline was hard for me to read.

I should emphasize that you don't actually see the rape, but you know it happens.

I write dark, therefore I read dark ^_^ I'll be interested to see just how dark I can go...

seriously this comic Dives into the worst things people can do to each other. 

It really shows us the depths to which people will sink to survive.

*interested* it'll probly give me nightmares though, like I said I'm a total chicken when it comes to gory stuff, though I do enjoy movies with lots of guns, that aught to count for something ^_^ I think the goriest movie I own is...probably Black Hawk Down. The first time I watched it I had to take a break in the middle, but now I can watch it while eating dinner *lol*
